A Right Royal Respect

A-Z Archive – Challenge- Letter ‘R’

When I was young, we learned a respect that has never left me.

A respect for the Queen of England, a young woman who took on the leadership and position as sovereign when her father died unexpectedly, like the proverbial, ‘duck to water’.  This admiration began when we grew up in South Africa, then under British rule.  My Irish my mother, was always drawn to the royals; read every little snippet of news about them and I was even named after Elizabeth II !

To this day, I admire the Queen’s tenacity along with the energy and devotion she shows for her country as she goes about her daily duties. Great Lady.

So ‘R’-   Respect     Royal      Regal
